Cairnfield
A quiet place to keep what you read.
Save an article and it becomes yours — the text, the pictures, and the original page underneath, kept on your own devices and nowhere else.
A cairnfield is a landscape scattered with stacked stones, each one marking something worth finding again. That is roughly the idea.
What it does
- Saves articles from anywhere via the share sheet, and reads them without the clutter.
- Keeps the original page too, so a better reader later can repair an older save.
- Full-text search with the matching phrase shown in context.
- Highlights and notes that stay attached to the words, not to a scroll position.
- Three reading themes, and type that follows your system text size.
- Syncs across your devices through your own iCloud.
What it doesn't do
- No account. No server of mine for your reading to sit on.
- No trackers, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party code at all.
- No unread badge counting at you, no streaks, no reminders to catch up.
Where your reading lives. In the app on your device, and in
your own private iCloud so your iPhone and iPad stay in step. I have no
server and no way to read any of it. See the

Open source
The whole thing is on GitHub, including the article extractor, which is a dependency-free Swift package with a test corpus of real captured pages.
